The Piast hotel was established in 1897 and was once known as the "U Franciszkanów" (At the Franciscans') hotel. It is one of the most representative hotels in Słupsk. For years of its activity, since the XIXth century it has accommodated many well-known personages from
the world of politics, science and art. In the restaurant, which is an integral part of the building, scenes for some films have been shot. A well-known German historian and writer Christian Graf von Krockow mentioned about pre-war history of the hotel in his book "Hour of the women". In the nineties of the XXth century the hotel was thoroughly renewed.
